Years ago, I used to refer my clients to web designers and other marketing professional thinking they were in good hands.

After many months and years in some cases, their websites remained vacant except for the "Under Construction" text we all know.

After hearing a few complaints from my business clients, I decided to personally explore the tools and challenges of building a website. I learned basic HTML and CSS. I learned about Web Hosting and FTP along with email protocols. I purchased applications to help me create better quality web pages. Some of these tools were HoTMetaL, Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft FrontPage, IBM WebSphere, and others.

Over the years, my websites became more challenging and complex. I have built sites that incorporate special databases. Some sites use image galleries, PDF libraries, shopping carts, etc...

When building a website today, there are many choices to build upon such as Basic HTML, WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal just to name a few. My platform of choice is a Content Management System (CMS) known as Joomla. Joomla is an open source application and is widely extensible. Joomla! has thousands of free and paid extensions and templates allowing me to customize your site to fit your specific needs. In addition, Joomla can grow as a site gets more complex and/or larger.
